CCNP

Compared to the CCNA certification the CCNP is higher level of Cisco certification requiring a more in depth knowledge of larger computer networks. The CCNP certification will teach you to configure, install and operate much larger Cisco based networks. For your CCNP certification you will need to have a good understanding of the following protocols: IP, IGRP, Async Routing, IPX, AppleTalk, IP RIP, Extended Access Lists, Route Redistribution, RIP, Route Summarization, OSPF, VLSM, BGP, Serial, Frame Relay, ISDN, ISL, X.25, DDR, PSTN, PPP, VLANs, Ethernet, Access Lists, 802.10, FDDI, Transparent and Transnational Bridging.

The benefits of CCNP certification include the following:
  • As with other Cisco certifications the CCNP validates an individual's achievement, whereby increasing the holder's professional credibility by ensuring high standards of technical expertise.
  • CCNP certification indicates a holder’s ability to effectively manage networking for large enterprises. It also validates the ability to work in corporations whose networks have 100 to more than 500 nodes.
CCNP Certification also shows that a professional can perform the following:
  • Manage and implement suitable technologies to create a scalable routed network
  • Install and operate campus networks employing multiplayer switching technologies
  • Improve traffic flow, redundancy, dependability, and performance for campus LANs, routed and switched WANs, and remote access networks
  • Deploy QoS, VPN, and converged networks in a large organization or corporation
  • Troubleshoot in a complex network environment where Cisco routers and switches are used for multiprotocol client hosts and services
