How to Earn Your MCSA
MCSA: Windows Server 2003 Candidates
Candidates wishing to obtain a MCSA must pass the three following core exams:
1. The first set of core exams focuses on System Networking. The two required exams pertaining to this criteria are:
- MCSE Exam 70–290: Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment
- MCSE Exam 70–291: Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure
2. MCSE: Security candidates must also take an additional core exam focusing on the client operating system. The required exam pertaining to this criteria is:
- MCSE Exam 70–270: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional
3. Finally, MCSA candidates are required to complete an elective exam. The default exam provided is:

YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Kevin Wolford - Kevin began his career in the computer industry in 1983. He has worked as a technical writer, trainer, and network administrator. He worked at Novell for years, and he is recognized as a Master CNE and CNI. During the late 90's, he founded Tech Training, providing him with the opportunity to experiment with his training philosophies. Kevin is certified as a Microsoft Trainer (MCT) and MCSE, and he has completed certification in SQL and SMS Server, NT Workstation, TCP/IP, Exchange Server, NT Server, and numerous Windows platforms. Kevin has written books about Microsoft certification for Sybex and New Riders. Additionally, he setup and manages a consulting company to teach complicated concepts in easy to understand ways.
